DAY 15 MONTH OF LOVE ❤️
How often do I talk about this muscle…… A lot!!
Here’s some information on it following on from yesterday’s movement and stretch exercises.
What is the quadratus lumborum muscle?
The quadratus lumborum (QL) is the deepest abdominal muscle. It’s located in your lower back on either side of the lumbar spine. It starts at your lowest rib and ends at the top of your pelvis. It’s common to have pain here because you use this muscle to sit, stand, and walk. It helps to support the lower back.
The QL is one of the prime sources of lower back pain and can have an effect on your physical well-being.
QL stretches can help improve flexibility and relieve aches and pains while preventing new ones.
Location:
* Located in the lower back, lateral to the spine
* Attaches to the 12th rib, the iliac crest, and the transverse processes of lumbar vertebrae 1 to 4
Function: Extends the back, Side-flexes the back, Helps with forceful exhalation, and Maintains the correct posture of the lower spine and pelvis.
Check out yesterday’s two classes that covered this!!! Gotta be me favorite ❤️ @everyone
